Another diet and life update here at The Natural Health Blogger and I thought I would keep my readers updated on what I have been up to lately.
It has been a while since I have done any personal diet and life updates on the blog, with the coronavirus pandemic and other articles taking up the majority of my time.
But I plan to start blogging much more soon and will be posting up lots of my healthy meals and food that I am eating in the coming weeks and months.
Mixing Up Herbal Extract Powder Blends
Decided I would make up a herbal blend of the various tonic herbs, adaptogens and medicinal mushroom products I had left sitting around the house.
I am a huge fan of the 10:1 full spectrum extract powders by Na’vi Organics, they are some of the most potent and best quality herbal powders that I have tried to date.
Many of these are my favorite tonic herbs for supporting health and are good choices for supporting the immune system. The likes of chaga mushroom contain betulinic acid, which has potent anti-viral properties.
Marks & Spencer Lettuce Seed Kit Grow
Got a free Lettuce seed kit with my food order today at Marks and Spencer. Part of their “Little Garden” Seed Kit free promotion they are running at the moment.
Have never grown a Lettuce on my windowsil before, so interested to see how this turns out and I will keep the blog updated.
Oat Bran – Prebiotic & Digestive Health Support
I have recently added oat bran back into my diet after purchasing a few bags from my recent visit to Holland and Barrett health food shop.
Oat bran is one of my favorite prebiotic fiber rich “superfoods” for supporting the gut flora and increasing the beneficial gut bacteria. Unlike many other fiber sources, oat bran is very gentle and well tolerated. There are even studies which have found oat bran to be a safe dietary intervention in Ulcerative Colitis patients for increased faecel short-chain fatty acid levels such as butyrate.
I usually take about 1-2 tablespoons of oat bran daily as a prebiotic fiber intervention and have found significant health benefits over the years especially related to mental health/anxiety/depression and chronic fatigue syndrome symptoms. I am convinced the “gut-brain axis”, increased intestinal permeability, increased bacterial translocation and dysbiosis play a key role in the above conditions.
With the rise of the “carnivore fad diet” movement and low carb diet dogma its very sad to see dietary fiber recently being subjected to unjust demonization, especially considering it is well established that “fibre is a regulator of intestinal microflora and metabolism and is thus a key dietary component for maintaining intestinal health.”
Aires Tech – EMF Protection Device
I recently generously received some goodies from a company called Aires Tech, which produces EMF Radiation Protection Devices for smartphones, laptops, computers and many other devices.
I kindly received a sample of both their Aires Shield Pro and their Aires Defender Pro products and have been enjoying playing around with them both so far and have added the Aires Shield Pro to my laptop.
I also look forward to doing more research into the technology behind it and the research.
