Dark Cacao Chia Pod – The Chia Co
Chia pods are based around the very nutritious “superfood” chia seeds(Salvia hispanica), which are a great source of many nutrients including vitamins, minerals, omega-3(ALA) fatty acids, fiber and anti-oxidants.
The Chia Pods made a very delicious and filling dessert, with the taste being very similar to a traditional chocolate mousse.
From a health perspective, the Chia Pods make a very healthy breakfast or dessert at 143 calories per pod and they provide 2.7g of heart healthy Omega-3 fatty acid alpha-linolenic acid(ALA) per serving.
Chia Pod’s also provide more than 6g of dietary fiber per pod, which is around 25% of the daily recommended intake for fiber.
Chia seeds contain both soluble and insoluble fibre, essential for good digestion and maintaining healthy levels of cholesterol. Chia also provides a slow release of energy which can sustain you for longer.
